Vera Coleski is a proud mother of a Little Angel and the loving and devoted wife to Tane Coleski. In 2017, at just 23 weeks, Vera was admitted to King Edward Memorial Hospital and placed on strict bed rest. Despite all the efforts to prolong her pregnancy, Vera delivered her son Andrej at just 26 weeks.
“Losing Andrej to premature birth was something nobody could have prepared us for. Our little boy fought so hard for the 5 days he spent on this earth.”
Despite an often consuming sense of grief and loss, Vera has invested her emotions and efforts into Andrej’s legacy through raising awareness of preterm birth and funds for WIRF in honour of all the precious Little Angels.
“Although our memories of this traumatic time were challenging, being reminded of his strength is what pushed my husband Tony and I forward to face each day.”
In March 2018, Vera would break new ground as she held a hugely successful High Tea at the Pan Pacific attended by more than 180 guests. The event would go onto raise more than $13,000 for the Foundation.
2018 would deliver more fantastic news for the Coleski’s when in October they welcomed Adrijan to their loving circle of family and friends.
Although providing them with immeasurable joy and happiness, Vera and Tony both know that Adrijan has a big brother who will forever be watching over him; his own Little Angel.
“In memory of our little boy, our first born, I wanted to raise awareness of preterm birth and the complications that can arise from being born too soon.”
In 2019, Vera would raise the bar even high by holding the Little Angels Gala ball at The Westin Hotel in March 2019.
